AVIATION AUDITOR REFRESHER COURSE – INTRODUCTION

Auditors learn one fundamental truth about aviation; its only constant is change. Regulations change, people change, technology changes and so too does your competency. To keep current and relevant, and to keep your organisation within acceptable levels of risk; you need to practice your skills, perfect them over time and to have them audited! You will learn what you have forgotten about auditing during our Aviation Auditor Refresher Course.

If you are an aviation auditor or international consultant, then book yourself in for a check-up—a review of your technique and methods; discuss your problems, doubts, and successes with others who are just like you. This course is for experienced aviation auditors who haven’t refreshed their qualifications in some time, or perhaps have had a break from auditing and would like to brush up on their skills.

WHAT ARE THE COURSE OBJECTIVES?

The objective of this Aviation Auditor Refresher course is to refresh your knowledge about how to lead an audit team. Given a variety of aviation workplace scenarios, you are asked to review a plan, participate in and lead an audit team through the entire cycle of an audit, using defined strategies and techniques as described in ISO 19011.

WHAT WILL I LEARN?

You will refresh your knowledge about:

  • People management
  • How to understand complex processes and systems quickly and to look for flaws that others miss;
  • The process of continuous improvement, about risk management and how poor performance can cripple an organisation—even an industry.
  • How to communicate clearly, to lead with diplomacy and to keep plans on track.
  • How to measure those things that matter the most and to articulate findings and translate reports into action.

A: You will practice many aspects of auditing many times during the course where your supervisor is a current aerospace auditor.  You will get the benefits of OJT during the course.

But, if you want to do additional OJT with live audits in the filed, this can be arranged.  Please ask your supervisor.

A: This is a lead auditor course.  It teaches you the fundamentals of how to audit, how to prepare, gather evidence, lead others and write a report.  The course is relevant to ANY audit program.

However, if you want to audit with a specific audit scheme, like IOSA, you will first need to show them your auditor qualification (ASSET Aviation Institute Lead Auditor Certificate for example) and then complete their internal program that teaches you how to use their computer systems and checklists and so forth.
